Alan Levine

Senior Vice President and Florida Group President

Alan Levine is a Senior Vice President and the President of the Florida Group responsible for Health Management’s Florida operations, including 22 hospitals, several surgery centers, physician practices and other support functions across Florida.

With 20 years of hospital operations experience, Mr. Levine has served as CEO of various hospitals and health systems throughout Florida.

Prior to joining Health Management, Mr. Levine served as Secretary of Louisiana's Department of Health and Hospitals and as Governor Bobby Jindal's senior health policy advisor. Prior to that position, Mr. Levine served as CEO of Florida's Broward Health, an integrated health and hospital system. Mr. Levine also served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Health Policy Advisor to Florida Governor Jeb Bush prior to his appointment to serve as Secretary of Florida's Agency for Healthcare Administration.

Mr. Levine serves on several boards, including the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida, the Board of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, the Foundation for Florida's Future and Florida TaxWatch. He has volunteered for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, youth sports and Guardian ad Litem. Modern Healthcare Magazine named Mr. Levine as an "Up and Comer" in health care and named him one of 30 people in the nation who will have a powerful impact on health care in the next 30 years. Others on the same list include then Senator Hillary Clinton, Newt Gingrich, Barack Obama, and Bobby Jindal.

Mr. Levine earned his bachelor’s degree in health education from the University of Florida and master’s degrees in business administration health administration from the University of Florida.
