Recent Partnerships

  • In October 2011, Health Management acquired Mercy Health Partners, a seven hospital system with an 80-year history in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a result of the acquisition, the systems name changed to Tennova Healthcare. Tennova Healthcare’s affiliation with Health Management will allow the hospital system to leverage economies of scale for access to capital and purchasing power and share clinical best practices, providing more efficient delivery of services to patients in East Tennessee. Health Management will support the hospitals with financial resources and operational and clinical expertise in a number of impactful areas- all which work together to improve the overall delivery of care.

  • In July 2010, Shands HealthCare (Shands), affiliated with the University of Florida Health Science Center, and one of the Southeast's premier health systems, sought out Health Management to create a joint venture for three of its hospitals.

  • Through this partnership, Heath Management acquired a majority interest in three suburban Shands hospitals located in central Florida. Our participation in this partnership altered the tax treatment for these three hospitals, which now generates tax revenue for their respective communities.  Consequently, community officials were able to reduce local tax rolls, benefiting all members of the community.

  • In October 2010, Heath Management acquired the two-hospital, 413-bed Wuesthoff Health System (Wuesthoff) located on the east coast of central Florida. Wuesthoff was saddled with significant debt and an inability to reinvest in technology. They chose Health Management as the best partner to assist them in continuing their mission.

The proceeds from this partnership investment satisfied their debt obligations and within a few short months have already introduced, among other things, innovative robotic surgery capabilities, allowing local residents to remain in their community for needed care.

  • In May 2011, Health Management partnered with the physician owners of the 112-bed Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi. Under the joint venture, Health Management owns 95% interest in Tri-Lakes and manages its day-to-day operations.
