What Is The "Good Government Council"?

Good Government Councils (the Council) were designed to serve as a mechanism for Health Management Associates to engage in the political process and have been established at each Health Management facility. The activities of the Council will server to:

  • Involve and educate all Associates in the political and community issues of the day
  • Build and enhance relationships with officials who are in a position to have a positive impact on our patients, our Associates, our hospital and our communities
  • Make the position of the hospital known to political leaders

What Is The "Good Government Council PAC"?

The purpose of the Good Government Council Political Action Committee (PAC) is to raise and distribute campaign funds to support candidates for political office who demonstrate interest and concern for issues that are important to our patients, our Associates and our hospitals. Under the law, the amounts that may be contributed to and by a PAC are limited, and steps must be taken to ensure that employee contributions are strictly voluntary and without coercion. Participation in the Council is not conditioned on support for the Good Government Council PAC.
