Compliance Program Overview

HMA’s mission is to provide quality, cost-effective healthcare in a positive and productive work environment. In fulfilling this mission, the corporation is dedicated to adhering to the highest ethical standards, and, accordingly, recognizes the importance of compliance with all applicable state and federal laws. Reflecting this dedication, HMA has developed and implemented a Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program.

The Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program is designed to ensure (i) that HMA employees are generally familiar with the laws, rules, and regulations that govern their specific employment responsibilities, (ii) that HMA employees always have a way to report concerns about inappropriate conduct, and (iii) that HMA employees become an integral part of ensuring compliance throughout all of HMA’s business operations.

All HMA employees shall receive training and education on the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program and shall be required to certify their acceptance of the requirements set forth in the Compliance Manual. The success of the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program and the success of HMA’s mission to continue to provide quality, cost-effective healthcare in a positive and productive work environment depends greatly on the dedication and efforts of each and every HMA employee.

HMA Employees Compliance Responsibilities

Receive compliance training upon hire and at least annually thereafter;
Sign compliance affirmations upon hire, promotion and at least annually thereafter;
Be familiar with contents of the HMA Compliance Manual and abide by employee standards;
Promptly report suspected violations;
Be familiar with laws, rules and regulations that affect job responsibilities;
Receive continuing education.

Helpline and Post Office Box

HMA has established a toll-free telephone compliance helpline and a compliance post office box for employees to report all suspected violations of the Compliance and Ethics Program.
