Johnny A. Owenby

Johnny A. Owenby is the Senior Vice President of Support Services. Mr. Owenby joined the company in April 1985 as Director of Materials Management at the Highlands Regional Medical Center. At the time, this was HMA’s flagship hospital in Sebring, Florida. He worked at several facilities with HMA in that role until moving to the corporate office in August 1998. Mr. Owenby was promoted to Director of Support Services and Materials Management in May 1999, and was promoted to his current position in January 2004. Prior to joining HMA, from 1972 to 1985 Johnny was employed by the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in East Tennessee, as Director of Materials Management. He serves on the Board of Directors for HMA’s GPO - HealthTrust Purchasing Group. He oversees the appointment of HMA’s representatives that sit on all the HPG Advisory Committees and actively participates with those groups. His primary responsibilities with HMA are supplies and equipment. Mr. Owenby attended East Tennessee State University, majoring in business.
